Swedish Massage is the most popular type of massage in the United States. It refers to a variety of techniques specifically designed to relax muscles. By applying pressure to muscles, and using long and flowing strokes, Swedish Massage enhances oxygen flow in blood and helps to release toxins.
Swedish Massage is not only relaxing, but invigorating as well. It affects the nerves, muscles, glands and circulation, while promoting health and well being.
Deep tissue massage is a technique that is used to target specific areas of tension, stiffness or pain, by breaking down adhesions that often form as a response to injury or overuse. This type of massage focuses on the deep layers of muscle tissues, using slower movements and increased pressure to release tension and restore flexibility.
Deep tissue massage therapy is similar to Swedish massage, but the deeper pressure is beneficial in releasing chronic muscle tension. The focus is on the deepest layers of muscle tissue, tendons and fascia (the protective layer surrounding muscles, bones and joints).
Neuromuscular Therapy (NMT) is an advanced method of soft tissue therapy for the relief of muscular discomfort and specific problems. This technique balances the musculoskeletal and nervous systems to enhance the function of joints, muscles and biomechanics (i.e. movement).
NMT is widely accepted as one of the most effective massage treatments for:
Sciatica, Rotator Cuff Injuries and Frozen Shoulder
Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
....and much more
Sports massage is a type of massage that is particularly helpful to athletes. Although it's also beneficial for anyone physically active with recreational sports, working out, or has a physically demanding job.
Sports massage is useful before, during and after sporting events. This technique helps to avoid injuries, cool down after exertion and enhance their overall performance. Other benefits include muscle soreness relief, increased flexibility and quick recovery from muscle overuse.
During your first visit, you will fill out a short medical history. This will give the massage therapist information about any problems that may need to be addressed. This also is a time for you to ask any questions you may have regarding massage.
You will be given time in private to undress and lay down on the massage table under a sheet. Your comfort and privacy is our top priority.
